Dan Beck recently made his wood shop available for a 2nd annual nestbox building party. Dan had precut all of the sides, roofs, doors and floors from sturdy plywood, and was joined by Steve Loitz, Shawn Whitlow and Steve Moore for assembling the pieces (following coffee, quiche and conversation).
Boxes of this size with a 4” square floor and a 1-1/8” entry hole are suitable for wrens, in yards and gardens in town, and for chickadees in wooded areas above the valley. This size of entry excludes (most) House Sparrows.
Our crew completed the assembly of 20 boxes. KAS offers these at $15, and they are ready for placement this spring in the habitat of your choice.
